I found kratom back in 2015 when I was working for a dietary supplement manufacturing facility in Utah. I was the Head of Quality Control department, so it was my responsibility to make sure the products we made were released with government FDA standards. The facility acquired a client that had us make their kratom powder into capsules. Overtime, I decided to get involved with this product myself and I started ordering kratom powder from a gentleman who had been to Indonesia. I hired another manufacturing facility to make my own brand. The brand started to take off in Utah and over the next 8 years I was able to open and create my own manufacturing facility. I made standard operating procedures and regulations for kratom, a product that was completely brand new on the market and had no systems in place. Once I opened my own facility, I made my own kratom product into capsules.
I sold the company I created in 2023 so I could pursue my dreams of travel. While traveling around South East Asia last year, I decided to create a new kratom product, much different that the previous product. This time, I wanted to get a better sense of what kratom actually is, where it comes from and how its made. Up until this point, I had been buying my kratom with no understanding of its origins. I’d just buy it in bulk and hope it was good. At that time, there were no certificates of analysis or Certified Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) for kratom, so I made my own.
I decided to take a journey to Borneo, right above Bali where I had been staying. This island is made up of 3 countries, one of which is a part of Indonesia, the largest supplier of kratom in the world. I went to the village where kratom grows, I met with the farmers and their beautiful families, I learned about the Dyek tribe and their ancient rituals and uses of kratom. I got to actually see, touch and taste a fresh leaf! Kratom leaves don’t stay fresh after 3 days, so I’d never actually seen a real leaf in person. It has to be dried and then processed into powder in order to ship it long distances. I found a beautiful farmer and his family there who I have been working with to create this product. Indonesia has some rules in place that you can only send kratom powder, but you cannot encapsulate it or package it. It must be sent in powder form, so this was a real treat for me to be in the presence of these beautiful, ancient trees and their leaves.
From here, I went to Bangkok where I met with a kratom association which works with several kratom farms all over the country of Thailand. They rolled out the red carpet for me and took me all over Bangkok to meet with the farmers and even the mayor (who owns one of the farms) of the area we were in! Here I also met with several manufacturing facilities where they showed me their processes and procedures in their cGMP facilities and meet the American FDA guidelines.
And just like that, Pin up Kratom was born! I’ve always considered myself an old soul and I’ve been obsessed with the 1950’s. It’s a part of me and so is this product, so I married them together. It’s really fun for me to share this product with the world with my own twist, and the best part is my Kratom has no fillers or pesticides. During my kratom career, I have had many a customer approach me to thank me for my product. Lots of military men or war veterans. People trying to wean themselves off their prescription pain medication. Utah has an outstanding opioid addiction problem. Really, the whole country of the United States is battling an opioid epidemic. These prescriptions are only a band aid for the real problems that lie below the surface, all the while causing severe damage to the body with heavy metals, chemicals and toxins. I believing in healing our bodies with what mother nature has given us. My kratom has no fillers. It is 100% dried and ground kratom leaves straight from the farmers I have meticulously interviewed and I have a real relationship with. I know exactly where it comes from, I have harvested the leaves in person and experienced their healing properties.
My own father battled with an opioid addiction most of his life. I watched him struggle to maintain his pain from the many, many surgeries, illnesses and viruses he encountered. Unfortunately I watched these prescription drugs get the better of him, ultimately ending his life. Prescription opioid medications stop here. I want to share this miracle plant with not only America, but the world. This plant has a rich history going back to ancient times with multiple healing properties including pain relief, stress relief, anxiety and depression relief, as well as energy and stamina boots.
